Prototypes
Applying the logo to different things can help me see the possibilities, I think this is an important phase in materialising a project as such.
My list of things to complete goes :
Beer, Coin/Token, Vending Machine, Chill/Space, Membership Card, Kickstarter Page, Website, Lobby “Museum” Display, Signage, Map, Uniform?, Mailbox.
Things completed this week
Display

This location is a significant entrance in to Haven Street inside of Leishun Court. The museum rack is made of oriented strand board, a material which would be used in other parts of the designs as well.
In erecting the preserved signs at the entrance is the ultimate “this place is taken care of” statement, with the welcome sign (silkscreened on to the wall), I think this will be a great start to the project.
The Vending Machine

The design was inspired by streamline designs of the 30s, 40s. I want the machine itself to be an icon and that it will blend in with the environment seemlessly. The reflective quality to it also holds the meaning of : telling people to take a good look at Haven.
I have talked to some shop owners I already know, and everyone feels that there is a need to sort of keep the rawness of the building. If someone is to step in, light and polish the building up, “it will not be the same thing” as everyone puts it.
Its also worth mentioning that the effect of the machine was done in Photoshop, a spray painting and smudge techniques I have always used in achieving metallic textures.
